Apple2026-10-16 07:31:06JPMorgan says Apple HomeView opens a new category, with upside tied to iCloud+ conversionJPMorgan said in an Oct. 13 research note that Apple’s new HomeView, priced at $299 and scheduled to launch on Nov. 13, opens a new hardware category inside the company’s home ecosystem. The bank kept its Overweight rating on Apple and reiterated a $360 price target, implying 5.6% upside from the Oct. 12 close of $340.97. The note argues that the financial case rests on three drivers: incremental hardware revenue, service attach opportunities, and broader ecosystem monetization. Apple introduced HomeView at its “Welcome Home” event alongside a new Apple TV 4K, HomePod mini 2, and Apple Home Collection accessories developed with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. JPMorgan said HomeView could help fill Apple’s gap in the smart home control hub market and compete with Amazon Echo Show and Google Nest Hub. At the same time, the bank said service upside will depend on how many users convert to or upgrade iCloud+, especially for camera history, AI-generated video descriptions, and clip search features tied to supported iCloud+ plans. The note also highlighted launch constraints. HomeView will not initially launch in the European Union because Siri AI is not available on iOS in the region. Wall-mount installation hardware will be sold separately, while Power over Ethernet installation is expected in early 2027.20
